Terms.

These terms cover this website and buying and using Judiscend for Mac. Please read them before you buy. If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected].

Who we are.

Judiscend is made by EQUINOX LOGIC LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16917204). Our registered office is Office 16180, 182-184 High Street North, East Ham, London, E6 2JA, United Kingdom. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean EQUINOX LOGIC LTD, and “you” means the person buying or using Judiscend.

Who you buy from.

Our order process is run by our online reseller Paddle.com, which is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle takes your payment, issues your receipt and handles taxes and refunds. Paddle’s own buyer terms apply to the purchase itself. We provide the app, the licence and support for the app.

What Judiscend is.

Judiscend is a Mac app for keeping what you read and think in one place, writing down your own judgments and checking them later against what happened. It works with an AI model that you connect yourself. It doesn’t give investment, financial, legal, medical or other professional advice, and it doesn’t tell you what to buy or sell. Decisions you make are yours.

Who can buy.

You need to be 18 or over. For now we sell only in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada (outside Quebec), Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, New Zealand, Malaysia and South Korea. If an order comes from anywhere else, we’ll refund it in full and won’t issue a licence.

What you need.

A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 15 or later, and an account with an AI provider that Judiscend supports. What the AI provider charges, and its own terms, are between you and the provider. We don’t receive or pay for your AI use.

Price.

The price is shown on our website and at checkout. Paddle adds any tax that applies in your country and shows the total before you pay. You pay once. You don’t need a subscription to keep using Judiscend.

Your licence.

When you buy, you get a licence key by email. It gives you a personal, non-exclusive right to install and use Judiscend on any Macs you own or control, for your own use. It doesn’t expire.

You may not sell, rent or share your licence key, pass your licence to someone else, or remove our notices from the app. You may not copy, modify or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows you to. Judiscend and everything in it belong to us or our licensors; the licence lets you use it, it doesn’t transfer ownership.

What your licence includes.

Founding licence. Every later version of Judiscend for Mac that we release, with no upgrade fees, and security and compatibility fixes for five years from the date you buy. A founding licence is personal to you and can’t be transferred.

Standard licence. New features released in the 12 months after you buy, and security and compatibility fixes for five years from the date you buy. After the 12 months, the version you have keeps working, and later feature versions are optional.

Fixes cover the macOS versions Judiscend supports at the time. We’ll show the end date for fixes when you buy. We don’t promise particular future features or dates.

Your records.

What you write and keep in Judiscend is stored on your Mac, encrypted. We don’t receive it and can’t read it. You can export everything at any time, and your copy keeps working without our servers. What the app sends to the AI and search services you choose is described in our privacy notice and shown in the app. Keep your own backups: if you lose your Mac and your backups, we can’t recover your records for you.

AI answers.

Answers in Judiscend come from the AI model you connect. They can be wrong or out of date. Judiscend shows where facts come from so you can check them; please do before relying on them.

Using Judiscend properly.

Don’t use Judiscend to break the law or to infringe other people’s rights. Only add books and documents you’re allowed to use.

Refunds.

See our refund policy. In short: within 14 days of buying, you can ask for a full refund, no reason needed. If you’re refunded, your licence ends and the app stops working, except for exporting and deleting your records.

If something goes wrong.

Judiscend is provided as described on our website. If you’re a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms don’t take away, for example the right to digital content that is as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If Judiscend is faulty, tell us and we’ll try to fix it; if we can’t, you may be entitled to some or all of your money back.

We’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We’re not responsible for loss or damage that isn’t foreseeable, for decisions you make using Judiscend, or for business losses, since Judiscend is for personal use. If faulty digital content we supplied damages your device or other digital content you own, and this is because we didn’t use reasonable care and skill, we’ll repair the damage or pay you compensation.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law doesn’t allow it, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

Ending your licence.

You can stop using Judiscend at any time. We may end your licence if you seriously break these terms, for example by selling or sharing licence keys; we’ll tell you by email first.

Changes to these terms.

We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes in the law or in the app. The terms that applied when you bought still apply to that purchase, unless a change is needed by law or for security. We’ll change the date at the top.

Law and disputes.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you’re a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. If you have a problem, please write to [email protected] first; we’ll try to sort it out.
